Nakba Commemoration – Rotterdam, The Netherlands

In Rotterdam, two events took place in commemoration of Nakba Day, May 15, 2022.
The first was an exhibit entitled: \”Nakba has deep meaning for me.\”  It was held at Verhalenhuis Belvédère; Rechthuislaan 1, 3072 LB Katendrecht, Rotterdam.

In the exhibition, artist duo Gil & Moti show their new video work \’…After that no more Palestine\’, as well as paintings and drawings by Finan Ghazal, the cooking art of her daughter Nivien Ragab, sculptures by Jamal Al shaabi and \’comic stories\’ by his son Mahmoud. There are also objects/memorabilia on loan from various living rooms of Palestinians from Rotterdam that serve as a personal \’physical memory\’ and at the same time make the Palestinian culture and identity visible.

The second event was a Nakba Memorial Gathering at the Botanic garden – Kralingen next to Palestinastraat 46.

Around an olive tree a ceremony was conducted by Yousef Hashem with speakers from the Rotterdam region Palestinian community.

Many thanks for the beautiful pictures and videos:
