My name is Gabrielle Cathala, I am 33 years old. I was elected as a Member of Parliament to the National Assembly in July 2024. Before becoming an MP with La France insoumise, I worked for a French NGO in Haiti (December 2016 – August 2017), served as a humanitarian attaché and civil society project officer at the French Embassy in Brazzaville, Congo (November 2017 – August 2019), worked as a legal advisor for the La France insoumise parliamentary group in the National Assembly (December 2019 – June 2022), and then as secretary general of the same group (June 2022 – July 2024). I hold master’s degrees in criminal law and international law.
In the National Assembly as well as in the streets, my fellow La France insoumise members and I have been the only ones to clearly denounce the ongoing genocide in Gaza over the past 21 months and to stand up for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination, despite relentless defamatory political and media attacks against us.
