I was born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark, to a German-born father and a Jewish-American mother. They provided me a safe and comfortable upbringing, but also ensured that I knew the stories of what my family members had experienced during the Holocaust. To me it was always self-evident that the motto “never again” is without meaning if it does not apply to everyone. In October 2023 I found community with other anti-zionist Jews who participated actively in the near daily protests. We now go by Jews for Just Peace (of 5784).
I view the flotillas as absolutely necessary attempts at breaking the blockade of Gaza and as global waves of shared humanity.
